Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure differs in that it is more personal, containing "crises, self-doubt and loneliness". Gorman began performing the stage show in Australia during March , a fortnight after the events had happened. He started at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival , from where the show moved to the Sydney Opera House and became the biggest-selling show at the Studio Theatre there. In America, he performed at The Comedy Festival in A three-month Off-Broadway run led to tours of North America in spring and autumn Shenton describes it as "really inspiring", praising Gorman's "fire and fervour".
Shenton calls Gorman "an instinctive storyteller" and writes that the show is "the most consistently surprising, original and deeply worrying show on the fringe". Philip Brandes of Los Angeles Times reviews the show positively, praising Gorman's "impeccable" timing and ability to link the "disparate narrative threads" seamlessly.
Brandes describes the show as "a richly varied, delightful and at times surprisingly touching human tapestry".

Bennett watched an hour-long performance and commented that "reams of potential material is super-compressed", saying the show would be well-suited to a television series. Languages Add links. Title: Important Astrology Experiment —. Dave Gorman attempts to travel coast to coast across America without giving any money to 'The Man' by avoiding large chains and multi-nationals and instead seeking out independent businesses in order to find the true spirit of the country. Dave Gorman tells the story of his attempt to find 10 'Googlewhacks' websites containing two unique words when searched on Google and meet their owners before his 32nd birthday, in order to win a bet.
Dave Gorman and Danny Wallace had a bet that Dave couldn't meet 54 of his namesakes 1 for every card in the deck including the jokers. It all got out of hand and they ended up travelling Dave Gorman, never one to turn down a daft quest, decides to live his life strictly by the advice of horoscopes for 40 days and nights. He picks 20 astrologers and picks one piece of clear advice each day to follow.
To ensure that he can compare his happiness with how he would have been without the advice, he uses his twin brother as a control. A panel of experts on love, health and wealth sit in judgement on how he has done in order to ascertain his HQ happiness quotient. Written by bob the moo. Is it wise to follow the advice of horoscopes? Dave Gorman uses the same tools in his shows - the overhead projectors, the graphs, the charts and so on.
Here his deadpan experiment takes his horoscope to the letter and makes comedy from it. It isn't quite as catchy as his first show where he searched for his name sakes simply because it is a lot more complex. Whereas with the DCC the graph was only for comedy value and was easy to understand, DGIAE has tonnes of data which you need to get - it also takes up time every week explaining it. Of course this is all nonsense and it's all a set up. I very much doubt that the control is really Gorman's twin but who cares. The horoscopes themselves are hilarious even if Gorman's antics are forced or repetitive.
The graphs are a little bit of a downside because they take up more time.
Or at least they take more time to do. For each day an expert panel give opinions on love, health and wealth and then the audience vote on Dave and his brother's status in each category. This takes time and a flash up of a stat during the voting is tired and not often funny. Overall however this is enjoyable.
