By setting our intentions on embodying the teachings of archetypal cosmology, we will co-create a field of group consciousness whose endeavor is two-fold:. This course is centered on deepening into astrology as a grounded, spiritual practice, providing you not only the tools of the trade but a living laboratory in which to begin to use them.
My role is as a teacher of these tools, but also as a therapeutically-trained facilitator, holding the group process for a sustained period of time in a safe and creative container.

Of course, the very biased vision and understanding that most people have of astrology will probably take years to overcome. Dogmatic scientists will refuse to even take a look at the enormous amount of research and evidence that speaks for the validity of this new discipline, because of weekly horoscopes of no value published in magazines.
But in due time things will change, because highly respected scholars like Richard Tarnas, Stanislav Grof and many others have dared to put astrology to the test, to brush away the cobwebs that had accumulated on it, and to clearly identify its essential meaning and components. I have always known that astrology works, but I haven't always been clear on why.
Discovering Eris (by Keiron Le Grice)
For me, that's where the writing really came alive and kind of popped off the page. I didn't anticipate the book to have such an evolution of consciousness bent. The way Le Grice synthesizes cultural history, the depth psychological perspective, the archetypal vision, and the evolutionary potentials within astrology is pretty astounding. The book feels like it is extremely ahead of its time.
As a major text for the emerging discipline of archetypal astrology, though, it hits the mark big time. I think The Archetypal Cosmos is a very important work. The Eagle Has Landed. He is graced not only with the broadest possible vision but also a talent for synthesis, connecting a number of important dots between the broad strokes of figures such as Jung, Grof, Tarnas, Teilhard de Chardin, Joseph Campbell, Fritjof Capra, David Bohm, Brian Swimme, and Rupert Sheldrake. When one or two writers of this stature put forth a hypothesis, they might be dismissed as idealistic anomalies but when a growing number of independent researchers employing appropriate epistemological methods arrive at the same conclusion, it is clear evidence of a genuine paradigm shift.
Especially interesting are his discussions of the psychology of governing world views; the changing mythological situation and evolution towards an individual mythology; the relationship between transpersonal psychology, ecology, and the new paradigm; historical synchronicities with the discovery of the outer planets; and the importance of the moment of birth.

As Nietzsche foretold at the dawn of the postmodern era, modern humanity is being compelled to explore the interiority of the unconscious, to undertake the great heroic descent into the underworld of the psyche. In the glare of our dominant masculine culture which emphasizes individual purpose and selfhood, we have left behind the crucial yin, lunar qualities of adaptability, relatedness, and connection. Le Grice feels that we need to counterbalance the stupendous achievements of our yang culture with the development of an interior lunar awareness.
Rather, it is to bring together on our own heroic journeys both poles and principles, the solar and the lunar. This work is a solid addition to the new-paradigm literature, widening and smoothening the bridge between the old mechanistic paradigm and the new integral world view. He persuasively asserts that this nascent cosmology, grounded in observations of planetary motions and an informed archetypal perspective, could provide a new mythic framework for a more conscious, meaningful, and satisfying relationship between human and cosmos. Review in the British Astrological Association journal, April Let me say at the outset I consider this to be a ground-breaking book for reinstating astrology.
It gives a convincing explanation of how astrology works, and provides the new discipline of archetypal astrology with a lucid and scholarly scientific-philosophical framework. His key move is to erase the duality of mind and matter that has created the illusion of separate interior and exterior worlds —the foundation stone of the now obsolete reductionist-mechanistic paradigm. Studying the process by which mathematically based patterns emerge spontaneously from within chaotic systems, systems science has concluded that the capacity to self-organise is characteristic of all chaotic systems, including the universe as a whole in which all lesser systems are embedded.
This applies to our solar system, which as an interconnected, self-organising, evolving system is seen by Le Grice as a living organism rather than mere inert matter. The individual psyche is also a system, and embedded in the greater system of the human collective psyche, which then is embedded in the anima mundi — the transcendent, all-embracing ground of being.
It forms the common ground of both our exterior and our interior reality. And, as consciousness is not limited to the human mind, but co-extensive with matter and present throughout the cosmos, the universe is envisioned by Le Grice as possessing a mind and a psyche too.

They include the astrological archetypes that determine the quality of time, which for Le Grice are the planetary archetypes. Correlations between cyclically governed planetary alignments and events in human life are explained by the fact that the inner and outer worlds we experience are not just symbolically connected.
They form a unity as both arise from the same ground — the anima mundi. We choose our parents to reflect, to act out for us, to imprint upon us, the complexities of our individual destiny. I like this idea. Whether we believe in past lives as literal events in time or not, it allows us to place our family experience in the realm of the archetypes, in the realm of divine play.
We can imagine our parents as messengers, conveying the character and flavor of the gods, in the form of a complex drama, acted out for our benefit. This approach sees through the prevailing attitude that suggests that we grow despite our parental influence; that if we could only overcome our poor parenting, we may possibly become whole again. We become whole not despite our parent's wounds, but because of them, through them.
Archetypal psychologists tell us that we meet the gods through our own wounds, but our wounds are part of an inheritance. We stand on the shoulders of wounded giants. My primary astrological interest lies in exploring the all-too real material that we naturally project in our day-to-day relationships. I agree with Rilke, who said, "For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation. If we can gain some insight into the inner struggles that we brought into this world, we can see the footprints of the gods in what otherwise feels like the ongoing, inescapable power struggles and petty squabbles in our relationships.
Then we can recognize our partner as a mirror and a gift to our soul work, especially in those areas of our interaction that feel like anything but a gift This principle applies across the board to all of our relationships, whether with a partner, a boss, children, friends, etc. Do you ever ask yourself questions like: What is my life's purpose? Why do I like certain people and dislike others?
